Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has revealed his plans to protest at the premiere of the new documentary about the singer's life which he brands as 'biased' and 'slanted'.
The documentary-film is due to be released across UK cinemas on July 3, and is set to be premiered at the Cannes Film Festival later this month. The film is directed by Asif Kapadia, who also directed the worldly acclaimed Senna whos methods have been drastically opposed by Mitch Winehouse.
When asked about whether he will be attending the premiere next month, Winehouse said: “They probably won’t invite me. But if they do, they’ll be asking for trouble, as I’ll be doing my own press conference, telling everyone how disappointed I am.”
The singer's Father told The Sun earlier this year: "had it come out in its original form, I wouldn’t have been able to walk down the street.” His main concern was with a section of the film which shows the singer spending Christmas alone, but instead stressed that she was with her fiance Reg Travis and her Brother:
"We created such a fuss over this that they took the scene out. It was not true and is extremely hurtful. That’s just one example of how biased and slanted we think this film is.” He also said several of the singer’s friends walked out of interviews due to biased questioning.

Altitude Films have opposed these 'biased' and 'slanted' claims in a statement, explaining: “When we were approached to make the film, we came on board with the full backing of the Winehouse family. As with Senna, we approached the project with total objectivity. During the production process, we conducted in the region of 100 interviews with people who knew Amy; friends, family, former partners and members of the music industry who worked with her. The story the film tells is a reflection of our findings from these interviews.”
