Azealia Banks has tweeted her disdain for her recent BET Award nomination, calling the awards "bogus" and pointing out how frequently Nicki Minaj wins.
The Black Entertainment Television Awards were established back in 2001 to celebrate African Americans and other minorities in entertainment. This year, Azealia Banks is nominated for Best Female Hip Hop Artist alongside Nicki Minaj - whose history of dominating the awards has not gone unnoticed by Banks.
Minaj, in fact, has won in that category every single year since 2010, and is one of the ceremony's highest winning artists. As such, Banks took to Twitter to write, "I really hate getting nominated for @bet awards. They're so bogus. The female rap award goes to nicki [Minaj] every year, it's not even a real award anymore lol it's a bit of a running joke."
There followed a violent imagined situation in which Banks addresses Minaj's fanbase, known as Barbz.
*hears barbz buzzing in the distance* *rolls up car windows* *sound of little barb heads slamming into glass* *unconscious barbs on floor*

*turns up random nicki Minaj verse* *puts car in reverse* *backs up over barbs* *blood splatters* *puts car in drive and takes off*

She subsequently preempted the inevitable headlines that her tweets will spark, saying, "Black media is so stupid and pointless. What a shitty cycle."
