Muse fans have taken online to react to their new single 'Mercy', and have once again divided opinion.
The band premiered the latest track from upcoming album Drones last night. Loaded with huge stadium choruses, sweet piano hooks and a rolling rhythm, it's certainly one of the more pop-oriented things they've released - especially in comparison to recent Drones cuts 'Psycho' and 'Dead Inside'.
Vast swathes of Musers love it, while others think it's a step too far in the 'wrong direction', while others have been likening it to Black Holes And Revelations single, 'Starlight'.

Then came those likening it to 'Starlight':
New Muse song = son of Starlight... but not as good https://t.co/g5BDm191vi
— Koshgate Atlantis (@radioovermoscow) May 19, 2015
I'm pretty sure people hated Starlight in 2006 the same way they hate Mercy now.
— Muse Philippines (@muse_ph) May 19, 2015
Mercy sounds like Muse got Glorious & Starlight & made this super baby out of them. Incredible.
— forameus (@blissfuIfiction) May 18, 2015
I love it!! ❤ It initially brought Starlight and Glorious to mind. :) Beautiful. 💕 #Mercy #Muse #MuseDrones

Muse will release Drones on 8 June - and fans should be quite excited, especially after Bellamy declared that it was their best album yet.
They headline Download Festival alongside Slipknot, Kiss, Marilyn Manson and many more. See here for tickets and information. Bellamy has also said that the band will be headlining Bestival in September. Read about why that will be awesome here, and for tickets and information, visit here.
