Wilco have surprise released their first album in four years entitled Star Wars, which is available now.
The 11-track LP is available as a free download over at the group's official website, the album follows the 2011 release The Whole Love, and strangely depicts a staring cat on the artwork.
Lead singer Jeff Tweedy took to Facebook to announce the release: "Why release an album this way and why make it free? Well, the biggest reason, and I'm not sure we even need any others, is that it felt like it would be fun. What's more fun than a surprise?"

Back in May, the group cancelled a gig in Indiana in protest of the 'Religious Freedom Restoration Act' which gave businesses the rights to refuse services to the LGBT community. At the time the group wrote: “The ‘Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act’ feels like thinly disguised legal discrimination to us. Hope to get back to the Hoosier State someday soon, when this odious measure is repealed. Refunds available at point of purchase.”
