A Seattle TV host who attempted to get the death-scene photos of Kurt Cobain released to prove that he was murdered, has had his case has been dismissed by US Judge.

King County Superior Court Judge Theresa Doyle has dismissed the lawsuit of the TV host, Richard Lee, over an inability to follow the correct procedure, The Seattle Times reports.

Doyle also dismissed the case on account that Lee had failed to give Seattle police department enough time to process his case and improperly went through with his lawsuit despite this fact.

The public access TV host had said that he'll submit another records request and sue again if unsuccessful.

Cobain died in April 1994, with an official cause of death being suicide by a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head. Despite this, the circumstances surrounding his death has been controversially debated by some since.

Speaking about the court case, Cobain'a daughter, Frances Bean, explained the damage and psychological ramifications the photos would have, if released: "I have had to cope with many personal issues because of my father's death. Coping with even the possibility that those photographs could be made public is very difficult."

She continued: "Further sensationalising it through the release of these pictures would cause us indescribable pain."

This isn't the only defamation of Kurt Cobain's death that has occurred this year. Courtney Love has had to take legal action against a conspiracy documentary that accuses her of orchestrating the death of her husband.

- Meanwhile, the authorised and acclaimed Cobain documentary movie, Montage Of Heck, is due to return to cinemas on 7 August. Read our full review here.
