Marcus Mumford joined The Maccabees on-stage on Saturday night as part of Mumford And Sons' Gentlemen of the Road stopover tour. See the video below.
With a festival inspired line-up, a huge crowd enjoyed performances from Primal Scream, King Charles, Simian Mobile Disco and The Maccabees. Marcus joined The Maccabees for their song ‘Pelican.’
Orlando Weeks, the band's lead singer, dedicated their last track to Mumford And Sons. "They’re doing an amazing thing," he said. "Putting these events on is not an easy thing to do. It’s a very valiant thing to do and it’s amazing to be asked to come and play with them.”

The gig took place in the Scottish Highlands, with a large crowd being blown away by the band’s renditions of 10 of the 12 songs from their latest chart topping album, Wilder Mind. They also played hits such as their 2012 single ‘I Will Wait’, as the mesmerised audience bellowing back every last word.
“It’s totally our honour and privilege to do these stopovers and you’ve made it happen,” said Mumford after completing a three-song encore. He also thanked the other bands from the gig for taking part. “It’s not a tried and tested formula, and they all had faith in us, from Primal Scream down to Neon Waltz, so thank you.”
Simian Mobile Disco closed out the night, featuring ‘Wilder Mind’ producer James Ford. Mumford joked that he was “a good lad, but it’s taken us booking his band for a shitload of money to come and see our live show. There’s still no proof that he’s here. He’s probably being choppered in at the moment.”
Mumford and Sons will be headlining Reading and Leeds Festival later this month.
