Tom Waits has paid tribute to collaborator and friend Keith Richards in the form of a poem.

With the imminent release of Richards' new solo album Crosseyed Heart next month, Waits has penned a lengthy poem to celebrate the Rolling Stones guitarist's legendary status. Via Rolling Stone, Richards is described as having blue urine and smelling like a campfire by Waits which, we think, are meant as terms of endearment.

The pair have worked together many times, most notably on Tom Waits' albums Rain Dogs and Bad As Me.

Earlier this month, Keith Richards described The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's...as a "mishmash of rubbish".
