A spate terrorist attacks struck Paris last night (13 November), with shootings and explosions taking place throughout the city - and hostages being taken at an Eagles Of Death Metal gig.
The band were playing at the legendary Bataclan concert hall when shootings broke out - with the Agence France-Presse confirming that 35 people were killed and 114 hostages were taken.
UPDATE: However, the band are said to be safe and not hostages - with support band Red Lemons taking to Facebook to say that EODM and frontman Jesse Hughes' partner Tuesday Cross escaped:
"For our american and english friends, a terrorist attack happened at the Eagles of death metal concert. We are safe. Mikel Ross, Eric McFadden we were with your mates Jesse, Tuesday, the other musicians outside, they're safe too, they took a cab. Fuck..."
UPDATE: It is claimed that security forces have since entered the venue, however Eagles Of Death Metal have since issued a statement: "We are still currently trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew. Our thoughts are with all of the people involved in this tragic situation."
UPDATE: It is reported that police have ended their assault on the Bataclan and that two of the attackers have been killed. The scene has been described as 'carnage' with terrorists said to have thrown explosives at concert-goers.
UPDATE: U2, Deftones and more have cancelled Paris shows due to safety concerns.
The British Foreign Office say anyone who is worried about friend or relatives that may have been caught up in the attack can call 0207 0081500 for more information.
