Concert giant Live Nation promise to increase security across its venues in the wake of the Paris attacks that saw over 120 music fans killed at an Eagles Of Death Metal show on Friday (13 December).
ISIS carried out attacks across Paris, including at a local restaurant and the Stade De France football stadium - but most of the casualties were seen at The Bataclan, where terrorists struck an Eagles Of Death Metal gig.
Now Live Nation, who run the likes of Madison Square Garden, Manchester O2 Academy, Motorpoint Arena Cardiff and Sheffield, The Hollywood Palladaium and New York's Wiltern Theatre among many more, will be stepping up their security measures.
“The safety and security of our shows, fans and venues continues to be our highest priority,” Live Nation say in a statement. “Due to the recent events in Paris and in an abundance of caution we have implemented heightened security procedures globally. However, because of the sensitive nature of these protocols, we cannot elaborate further on the specific details.”
A number of bands have since cancelled European shows due to safety fears, while Deftones have pulled their entire tour after being in The Bataclan venue when the attacks took place.
