Here's the news that fans of The Last Shadow Puppets have all been waiting for - their new album is finished and coming in 2016.
The Age Of Understatement conquered new territory for Miles Kane and Arctic Monkeys' Alex Turner, with a Phil Spector-esque sense of scope and a romantic, vivid lyricism with the likes of 'Standing Next To Me'. Now, a second album is on its way - prepare for their live setlist to grow more awesome when they tour.
Now, it looks like it's definitely on.
"This year, I’ve just done a Last Shadow Puppets record, which is the guy from Arctic Monkeys and Miles," said the band's drummer and producer James Ford, also of Simian Mobile Disco - in an interview with Rock & Pop. "So we did the follow-up album to that. That’s the last thing I did."
Confirming that the record was finished, he added that it "will "be out next year sometime."
Kane and Turner have since frequently guested on stage with one another to perform Last Shadow Puppets songs, but other than losing their shit to The Strokes during their Hyde Park gig this summer, all had seemingly gone quiet on the LSP front. Now, that's all about to change - bring on 2016.
