Dave Grohl has been announced as the next guest on the new The Muppets TV show - and will be partaking in a drum-off with Animal. Despite a heavy tour schedule with his band, Foo Fighters, Grohl has taken some time off to go stick-for-stick with the furry-fury on the 2015 franchise reboot.
According to Variety, Grohl will perform as himself among the colourful and charismatic characters as well as starring in the episode that features indie-film dreamboat turned serious Hollywood boss, Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The 500 Days of Summer star will be singing a duet with Miss Piggy as a part of the late-night talkshow the new series revolves around.
Although, this isn't the first time Grohl has featured in a Muppets show. The former Nirvana drummer actually filled in for Animal when he was forced to attend anger management classes during The Muppets' 2011 return to the silver screen.

Grohl isn't the first musician to appear on screen with The Muppets. In the last couple of years, we've appearances from the likes of Lady Gaga, Cee-Lo Green and even OK GO.
In other Dave Grohl news, the Foo Fighters has been sending out some quotes of the year shouting out all the 'rich motherfuckers in the box seats' at a show as well as accusing the Emmys of cancelling the Foos' slot at the awards ceremony. The band were in attendance for their HBO docu-series, Sonic Highways.
As an added bonus, here's a video of our favourite Foo Fighter chugging a beer with a fan for his 50th birthday.
