Placebo have spoken out in tribute to a friend and colleague of the band's who tragically lost his life in the heinous Paris terror attacks last week (Friday 13 November) - during one of Eagles Of Death Metal's tour dates.

The 'Pure Morning' icons' French Marketing Manager Thomas Ayad was killed while attending Eagles Of Death Metal's gig at The Bataclan in Paris where ISIS gunned down 120 music fans. More and more devastating facts and updates about the atrocities keep emerging, including Deftones sharing their account from inside the venue

Now, Placebo have since taken to Facebook to remember their fallen friend:

"THOMAS AYAD, 1983 - 2015

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of our friend Thomas who died on Friday night at the Bataclan in Paris.

"Thomas was Placebo's French Marketing Manager and has worked closely with us over the past few years.

"He was a passionate music man, who loved his 'rock'. Always welcomed us with a big smile and loved his job. He was a joy and a pleasure to work with and he will be sorely missed.

"What a tragic and senseless loss of life. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and the teams at Mercury and Universal Music Group.

"Brian & Stefan xx"

Also among the dead were Eagles Of Death Metal's merch manager, and countless other music industry professionals and fans

Placebo and Eagles Of Death Metal were friends, after Jesse Hughes and co were invited to support the band on their Sleeping With Ghosts tour.

To show solidarity and in honour of the victims of Paris, a campaign has been launched to get Eagles Of Death Metal's cover of Duran Duran's 'Save A Prayer' to No.1  - with Duran Duran adding their support and giving all proceeds to charity

Placebo are in the midst of re-releasing their first five albums to mark their 20th anniversary as a band
