Coldplay performed at the Super Bowl halftime show last night (7 February), and things went pretty smoothly - though the concensus seems to be that they were upstaged by Beyonce.
The group certainly pulled out all the stops for their 13 minute set - there were fireworks, a staged pitch invasion, upside down umbrellas, a multi-coloured stage and plenty of bobbing and crouching from Chris Martin as they whizzed through shortened versions of their biggest hits.
They were then joined by Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars (who was wearing a truly upsetting all-leather outfit) and - finally - Beyonce, who upstaged them all by performing her surprise new single 'Formation'.
The online reaction was mixed, of course, but many Twitter users focused their attention on Beyonce's scene-stealing appearance.
Is Coldplay done ruining music and sports yet?

As someone who has been booked as a headliner only to have the audience enjoy other performers more, I deeply relate to Coldplay.

Oh - and the actual American football game happened as well. Don't ask us about that, we don't have the answers.
