This year's Ivor Novello nominations have been revealed - showing some refreshing and surprise inclusions, while ignoring Adele.
It must be said, it's a pretty fair and good reflection of UK music at the moment - with names from indie, grime, pop and dance all represented. The nominations set to "recognise the songwriters and composers... along with their UK music publisher" and will be judged by the "the UK songwriting and composing community" rather than sales and popularity.
Unlike the BRITs where she dominated (and they were slammed for a 'lack of diversity'), Adele is not among any of the nominations, and grime has been given a fair nod or two.
The 61st Ivor Novello Awards will take place at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on 19 May.
