Empire's Taraji P.Henson managed to confuse one of the world's biggest bands, Coldplay, with the very acquired taste of Maroon 5 during yesterday's Super Bowl halftime show.
The actor took to Instagram to express her deep love for Maroon 5 - though clearly that love isn't quite deep enough for her to realise that it was, in fact, Coldplay performing. "YAAAASSSSS!!!! #maroon5 is life to me!!!" she wrote, with a screenshot of Coldplay.
She deleted the post when she realised she was wrong but Adam Levine, Maroon 5's frontman, reposted it to 5.4million followers as you can see below.
Whilst Coldplay have embraced shiny pop productions, and departed from their post Britpop sound more than ever on their most recent hit 'Hymn For The Weekend', it's difficult to hear how any resemblance can be made between that high falsetto of Maroon 5's R&B pop and Coldplay.
Also, for an event that counts The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and The Who among its alumni, having Maroon 5 would have caused a bit of an uproar - though it evidently would have delighted Henson.
If you're based in a country where the time difference meant you would have had to stay up through the night to watch it live, then you can see the footage for the first time below. It is quite a spectacular performance, even if the crowd jumping at the front do look like they have been told how to jump by a production manager before the set.
Chris Martin looks like he embraced the moment as if he was Bono, as the band cemented themselves as one of Britain's most charismatic stadium bands.
