Good news for Missy Elliot fans as she released a new song, 'Pep Rally' just hours before the Super Bowl - and it's pretty amazing. Check it out below.
“#SuperBowl this my new Bounce ‘PepRally’ get u right 4the game where my Clappers,” she tweeted.
Elliot, who is the undisputed queen of hip hop, performed alongside Katy Perry at last year's half time show and evidently carries a fondness for the event by choosing this date for the release.
'Pep Rally follows the storming comeback track 'WTF ;(Where They From)', which features Pharrell Williams. She hasn't released a new album since 2005's The Cookbook, so whether this second track in relatively quick succession is indicative of an upcoming album, who knows?
Fans can only continue to hope for now as 'Pep Rally' will certainly whet the appetite. Elliot is sounding as vital as ever as the track is endlessly energetic and could tear the roof off any club who plays it loud enough to give it its full justice.
Meanwhile, the 'Pep Rally' has been used in an advert for Amazon Echo which features Alec Baldwin and you can watch it below.
