Mark Hoppus has shared footage of Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba recording vocals for a Blink 182 track.
Skiba has replaced Tom De Longe as co-frontman after De Longe left Blink 182 to explore different business opportunities within the arts and spend more time with his family.
Skiba belts out the words, " What's the point in saying sorry now" indicating the pop punk trio are keeping to their angsty roots - but can he live up to the legacy of Tom De Longe? Watch the clip below.
Meanwhile, in an interview with NME last year, Travis Barker revealed how it was going with Matt Skiba: "He’s fun to play with and write with. We’re just getting started but I think we’ve got, like, four or five songs right now that I’m really, really happy with. There’s a song called 'Punk Rock Cliché', which I love the most right now. It's about friends of ours and their relationships."
In terms of how the new material is sounding with the new member, Barker continued: "They sound different but still the same [...] Obviously, it’s Matt Skiba singing so there’s hints of Alkaline Trio, or at least Matt’s contributions to Alkaline Trio, mixed with my drumming and Mark’s voice and stuff. It’s really cool and I really love what we’ve done so far."
According to Hoppus there is now no animosity between the two original frontmen, and they're going through a friendly divorce.
