Pete Doherty will reportedly release his second solo album later this year.

The Libertines only finished their tour at the end of last month at the O2 arena, which rounded off a remarkable 2015 comeback, but according to the rumours which surfaced on Exclaim, Doherty is already working for the future.

The follow up to his stunning debut solo album, Grace/Wastelands, which included such hits as 'Arcady' and 'Last Of The English Roses', is welcome news for fans and something that he revealed "would happen quite naturally" after The Libertines tour.

The current working title is Flags of the Old Regime, with a lead single set to arrive this spring. The title derives from Doherty's touching tribute single to Amy Winehouse of the same name.

Meanwhile, Doherty will be releasing a split single with PJ Harvey guitarist James Johnson for Record Store Day, including a new version of 'The Whole World Is Our Playground', an unreleased track familiar to fans for its appearance on Babyshambles sessions.
