At the stroke of midnight, Catfish & The Bottlemen unveiled their new song 'Soundcheck' to the world as it became the first new material to be released since their debut album, Balcony. Check it out below.
'Soundcheck', written by Van McCann and produced by Dave Sardy, is the first taste of the new eagerly anticipated album due for release later this year.
“I feel like the last album was the support band, or even the soundcheck and this one’s the headliner,” McCann says.
Whilst the Llandudno frontman has unfailing confidence in what's to come, 'Soundcheck' indicates he has no reason to behave otherwise - the album is going to be a smash.
'Soundcheck' has all the hallmarks of a stadium rock song and it's easy to see tens of thousands of people bouncing at outdoor events all summer. A steady palm muted distorted riff drives the verses which work perfectly in the build up to the chorus.
Their debut album, The Balcony, sold over 210,000 copies in the UK so far, and has earned the band three NME nominations and a Brit Award nomination for Best Breakthrough Act.
