Glastonbury boss Emily Eavis has opened up about the festival's plans to pay tribute to David Bowie this summer, revealing that they will be 'personal', 'historic' and may involve some special guests.
This week saw Glastonbury unveil the initial first full stage of the line-up - featuring the likes of Foals, Beck, New Order, Disclosure, The 1975, Grimes, Sigur Ros, M83, James Blake, Bastille, Bring Me The Horizon, Art Garfunnkel, Two Door Cinema Club, Guy Garvey, St Etienne, Savages, Vince Staples and many more alongside the previously announced Adele, Muse and Coldplay alongside the likes of PJ Harvey, ZZ Top, Jeff Lynne's ELO and Jess Glynne.
Earlier this year, the Eavis' had revealed plans to screen Bowie's historic headline set from 2000 across the festival - but now Emily has opened up plans for another tribute, featuring his live band and perhaps some special guests...
"We're speaking to several members of his band, who played here with him in 2000, and everybody's got loads of ideas," she told BBC 6 Music. "We're trying to do something that is in keeping with him and us and his history here. It's not going to be a massive 'all star' kind of tribute, but something very personal and something that I think will mean a lot to people here."
She continued: "It will be something lovely, and we're also hoping to show some of his set across some of the screens on site, so that will be on Wednesday or Thursday before the music starts."
Fans had already kicked off their own plans for a 'mass singalong' in Bowie's memory.
Meanwhile, plans had already been announced for the John Peel Stage to be moved - while tickets look set to go on re-sale later in April.
