Radiohead’s Thom Yorke played a surprise acoustic set at his neighbour’s garden party over the weekend.
It might be a strange comfort, to those who were unable to get tickets to the band’s recent run of Roundhouse shows, to know that the band’s frontman could turn up and perform literally anywhere.
On Sunday, Yorke pitched himself on a rickety garden chair, surrounded by what looks like a dozen people or so, and played a handful of songs with an acoustic guitar.
News of the performance was revealed via Reddit, when a user posted a text they’d received from a friend: In Oxford at garden party with Suzie’s neighbours,” the text read, “about to hear entertainment from neighbour Tom York [sic] of Radiohead!” Clearly, with that spelling, they weren’t a diehard fan.
The singer reportedly performed ‘Desert Island Disk’, ‘No Surprises’, ‘Street Spirit’, ‘Reckoner’ and ‘I Might Be Wrong’.
Meanwhile, though none will quite match that garden party performance, the band's upcoming headline tour dates are below, with tickets available here.
