Stevie Martin, or as he was known by his stage name, Rainy Boy Sleep, was found at the weekend in Co Sligo, having gone missing several weeks ago.
Martin was originally from the border town of Lifford in Co Donegal, and was last seen in Londonderry where he lived.
The musician who had toured with the likes of Cyndi Lauper and James Morrison, as well as, playing the likes of Glastonbury, and Reading and Leeds, was found dead on Strandhill Beach.
Martin's former manager, Jeff Robinson, told the Belfast Telegraph: "He was just a lovely guy. I recall he turned up to an interview at the BBC with Gerry Kelly and he had a four pack of buns - cup-cakes - with him. I asked him why he bought them and he said, 'Because you are always remembered for being nice'.
"He was just that kind of guy - really nice. Everyone had really good things to say about him."
He continued: "He was a really good songwriter. The social media reaction mirrors what I am saying, he was very well liked across the board," he said.
"Stevie was signed to Universal Records. He could have gone extremely far. "He had the songs and his song-writing ability was incredible. He had a very good team behind him. He was an absolute talent. Everybody knew him in the music industry and this has brought everyone together.
"Sometimes you don't realise how someone affects everyone until something tragic like this happens and then you just realise how many lives he touched throughout his young life."

Last night his family thanked people from the music industry and further afield for sending their prayers and said his, "soul's at peace".
