The Away Days, are a band from Istanbul which is not something you usually hear which creates an interesting background. Turkish indie bands are few and far apart, but The Away Days come with a sound that fits so well in the Western indie pop genre and it's refreshing to take note that a band borne outside of the cultural hegemony of the US and Europe have broken through.
‘World Horizon’ their new song released today is a pleasant dream like indie pop cut with a beautiful story telling video to match. Floaty guitars and soft vocals create something you can imagine popping on and sitting in silence and just taking in.
Describing 'World Horizon' the band say: "This song is based on our lives in Istanbul, never ending lies, trapped in a World Horizon."
A more down tempo song for the band who have already released two singles and two EP’s with their debut album including the single expected in early 2017.
The band have so far had success touring with the likes of Savages, Portishead and Belle and Sebastian. They're going to go far.
