The Maccabees looked well and truly buried until today. Late August they announced their split, quitting whilst they were at the top of their game having released their career best album, Marks To Prove It, and headlining Latitude Festival.

Now, the band, who's best songs include 'Grew Up At Midnight' and 'Toothpaste Kisses', are set a live return in what already looks like one of the live highlights of 2017.

The Maccabees are easily one of the greatest guitar bands Britain has produced over the last two decades and no one but the band are content for them to be calling it a day so expect everyone to give it their all in the crowd - giving them the proper send-off they deserve.

Of the farewell shows guitarist Felix White says, “We're planning on these final shows being a huge celebration, thank you and goodbye to 14 years of writing, recording, playing and touring together.”

Elsewhere, Felix White has started his own label and club night called Yala! Records and has has started filming live sessions from The Maccabees' old studio, The Drugstore, which is in Elephant & Castle, South London. We premiered their Crows sessions, which you can watch here.

Yala! Records will release its first album in 2017

The Maccabees play:
28 June MANCHESTER, O2 Apollo
30 June LONDON, Alexandra Palace
1 July LONDON, Alexandra Palace

Tickets go on sale this Friday 9th December at 9am.
