Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails and Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers have recorded live shows to be screened in a piano bar at Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem.

Hans Zimmer has also recorded live footage for the project, which involves gigs filmed specifically for the project being screened on top of a piano which plays along with the music unmanned.

Elton John provided footage for the launch night of the project, which overlooks the wall separating Israel from Palestine and includes rooms customised by Banksy, Sami Musa and Dominique Petrin and comes with a gift shop called a Wall*Mart next door. The piano bar itself is themed after the British colonial occupation of Palestine in 1917, involving such pieces as CCTV cameras mounted on the walls.

“Guests can peruse a collection of Banksy artworks that include vandalised oil paintings and statues choking on tear gas fumes,” reads the hotel’s website. “Warm scones and freshly brewed tea are served daily on fine bone china and the Walled Off Salad should not be missed.”

The fully-operational hotel project follows Banksy’s dystopian theme park Dismaland, which featured live performances from Massive Attack, Run The Jewels, Savages, Pussy Riot and others.
