Those masters of pop metal The Darkness have announced details of new album and a 17-date tour. Pinewood Smile is released on October 6 and the band hit the road in November and December and will call at Manchester, London and Brighton among other places up and down this scepter’d isle.
Speaking of The Darkness’ upcoming activities, frontman Justin Hawkins was in typically bullish mood.
He said: “Why should anybody care? Because if you don't, we're fucked! History will remember us as the apathetic generation who negligently ushered in a dreadful dystopian age that may or may not come to be known as The Rise of the Arseclowns.
“We cannot allow this to continue! You may not give a shit about Brexit or Trump, but please, give a shit about The Darkness otherwise the last bastion of cultural sensibility will fall and our airwaves will be polluted by meaningless pop purveyed by arseholes and morons... Oh wait!”
To mark the occasion, The Darkness have shared a new track, ‘All The Pretty Girls’. An understated ballad of aching tenderness, it finds The Darkness moving into new and uncharted waters. Oh, who are we trying to kid? It’s The Darkness and it rocks. Like a mutha.
