Kate Nash has launched a fresh tirade against the heckler who shouted ‘Get your muff out’ while she was onstage at the Camden Barfly earlier this month.

The ‘Mouthwash’ singer says that people shouldn’t be able to get away with such taunts and that sexism should be treated on a par with racism and homophobia.

She said: “You shouldn’t be able to get away with shouting out sexist shit at people while they’re on stage. You won’t get away with shouting racial slurs at a gig, neither homophobic slurs, and please, I can’t believe someone could be bothered to heckle something like that.

”We should speak our minds about these things, address them and get over them.”

Clearly an issue close to her heart, she continued: “Someone asked me in an interview the other day if I hated men, which I found so trivial and ridiculous and offensive, the sort of question that might as well be a heckle on stage.

”The word equality speaks for itself. And it’s something I strongly believe in and we should all be striving for. So ladies, gentlemen, fight the good fight.”
