Lady Gaga and Eminem are among the nominees for a new award at this year's MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
It was announced today (August 4) that the ceremony later this month will also include an award for Best Video With A Message.
The recipient will be honoured for releasing a video that “served a higher purpose”.
The artists shortlisted are Pink for 'F*cking Perfect', Lady Gaga for 'Born This Way', 'Firework' by Katy Perry, Eminem featuring Rihanna for 'Love The Way You Lie' and Rise Against's 'Make It Stop'.
As previously reported on Gigwise, Katy Perry looks set to dominate this year's VMAs after collecting nine nominations.
The singer is nominated for all the major awards, including Video Of The Year' for 'Firework', Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
