"Come to this, not every1 gets that petrol station racking. Will in store signings still exist will physical sales still exist : ( times."
Ross Jarman, the drummer for The Cribs, wrote, "Really sad to hear the HMV news. Where do teenagers spend their pocket money these days? All my school friends were CDs and cigs," adding, "I think everyone should go buy a CD from HMV today. They get a little help, and you get AN ALBUM!"
Blur guitarist Graham Coxon also spoke out, saying, "They'll be closing down musicians soon.. It ain't gonna get any better. Bye bye jessops, bye bye hmv...the more they tried to keep up the less we visited them. Oh well eh!"
HMV is sadly in administration after failing to receive a £300 million loan
Scroobius Pip, one half of hip-hop duo dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip, said, "No Commercial Breaks was made with people I met at HMV. @danlesac & I? Met properly at HMV."
And James from Hadouken! decided to try and put things into perspective for fans.
"You think your £25 HMV voucher being voided is a bummer. We played a free gig in return for a couple of grands worth of racking space," he wrote. "Racking space = Yes you have to pay HMV to have your CD put in prime position. Not exactly fair but those are the rules."
