A 43-year old man has been arrested while attempting to break into Kid Rock’s home in Independence Township this week.
The identity of the man is being held pending his expected arraignment on Monday (August 5). He is being held at the Oakland County Jail, according to a news release from Oakland County Sheriff’s office.
According to the sheriff’s office, someone used a van to ram the gate at Kid Rock’s property at around 3:30pm on Friday and then tried to gain access to a building on the property.
He was arrested at his own home, north of Detroit, on Saturday morning following two tip offs received by the Sheriff’s dispatch centre.
The man’s 1994 Ford Club Wagonvan may have been used to try and force Kid Rock’s gated driveway open and has been impounded.
On Friday Kid Rock vented his fury, tweeting “don’t mess with a [expletive] like me” along with pictures of the van and a man on crutches.
The singer was not impressed by the attempted break-in
He continues: “Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break-in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or my family fear for our lives.
“I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are,” the singers website read on Friday night.
The singer even went as far as to offer a $5000 reward for information leading to the man’s arrest, describing him as a smoker in their late 40s or early 50 with a receding hairline, a mustache and side burns.
