Throwing Snow performs 'Linguis' x 'Hypnotise'

Rising star performs live and discusses debut album Mosaic

Whilst the charts are dominated by the blandest form of electronic music, the horizons of the genre are opening up to some truly forward thinking music. Throwing Snow, (real name Ross Tones), is an artist at the forefront of that movement, putting out music that refuses to be pigeonholed into genre.

What is clear are the wealth of influences that are drawn into his sound, influences that range from punk all the way techno. Mosaic, his debut album - released on Fabric's brilliant Houndstooth label on 2 June - is described by Ross as an amalgamation of all those influences. The result is a rich tapestry of music utilising a multitude of field recordings and distortion to create some incredibly taught sounds.
