Rik Mayall's 2010 World Cup tune has hit the iTunes Top 20, after a campaign was launched to get the track into the charts, following the comedian's tragic death.
The song, titled 'Noble England' was recorded in 2010, but was considered 'lost', having never been widely heard. Now, an online campaign, taking place across social networks has pushed the track into the charts, following huge public sorrow at the loss of the British comedy icon.
More than 19,000 people have added their voices to the campaign on Facebook, and many have also downloaded the track. At time of publishing, 'Noble England' is at No.18 on the iTunes chart.

In a statement on the Facebook page, the creator of the campaign spoke of his surprise at its success, writing: "When I started checking the live charting at around 5pm today, Noble England was in the Top 40 (just). Rik is now at 17. We are rising rapidly, but we are by no means home."
The track currently seems unlikely to hit the top spot, with some stiff competition from Ed Sheeran and former X Factor singer Ella Henderson, who is currently on track to score a No.1 single with her debut release, 'Ghost'.
