The Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony held in Glasgow Scotland last night was viewed by millions of people worldwide. It gave the country the perfect opportunity to display all the incredible talent that the Scottish music scene has to offer.
Unfortunately instead of performances from relevant and genuinely brilliant Scottish artists like Biffy Clyro, Chvrches and even Nina Nesbitt, the organisers picked Rod Stewart, Susan Boyle and Amy MacDonald to represent the country much to a lot of viewers disappointment, who certainly voiced their distaste on twitter.
Here's some of the best live tweets from the ceremony:
Rod Stewart, with his voice like a cat's litter tray

Susan Boyle is a lovely little man with a lovely voice. A bit forgetful of the lyrics but still a lovely little man.

I am so old I keep expecting Amy MacDonald to be a squeaky blonde American. #CommonwealthGames

Although some people seemed to really enjoy the ceremony....some:

Clare Balding asking Susan Boyle where she took the baton live on TV is my favourite moment of the #CommonwealthGames already.

Got to give it to Rod Stewart, very successful career as a singer despite having a fairly sore throat for 58 years. #Glasgow2014

Rod Stewart even looked like he was having a whale of a time:

But this tweet is our absolute favourite of the bunch:
Just screw it. It's a screw top. Just sodding twist it. #CommonwealthGames pic.twitter.com/MuSyxEXNAv
