Members of The Strokes, Arcade Fire and Bon Iver are all set to take part in a charity basketball game.
For the past few years, a charity basketball game has been organised by Win Butler of Arcade Fire fame and is being called POP VS JOCK. This year's event will take place on September 20 at McGill University Sports Centre.
The 'POP' side is made up of artists, musicians and actors recruited by Butler and will this year include Justin Vernon of Bon Iver as well as Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes. Meanwhile, team 'JOCK' consists of basketball players from McGill and Concordia Universities.
All proceeds from the match will be donated to DJ Sports Club, a non-profit charity organization in Montréal’s south-west borough that offers programs in sports and education to youth.
