Members of AC/DC have issued a statement following the arrest of Phil Rudd, who earlier today had been charged with attempt to procure murder.

The 60 year old drummer was arrested this morning (6 November) in New Zealand, and as The Guardian reports, is thought to have hired someone to kill two other men.

In the wake of the shocking news, the remaining band members have issued a joint statement, detailing how Rudd's arrest will not affect their release plans or forthcoming tour.

The statement reads: "We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year."

Rudd has currently been granted bail, however he is forbidden from speaking to anyone else at this current moment. If he is found guilty of charges against him, the drummer could face up to 10 years in prison.
