Flying Lotus has revealed he wishes he was surprised not to be asked to contribute to Kanye West's Yeezus.
Speaking to Newsweek, the acclaimed producer came out in praise of West's work, but expressed confusion about why he wasn't asked to work on the album.
The producer, real name Steven Ellison told the publication: "I should have been on it... It was kind of weird that I wasn’t. Just being totally real, not on some ego shit... I was like, 'They didn’t even call!'"
After saying it was his favourite record from West's discography, Ellison then went onto explain he's been trying to collaborate with Kanye on his own material as well: "I’ve been trying, man!.. I feel like, at this point, it’s been expressed enough. He knows where I’m at."
Yeezus wasn't the only album FlyLo felt he missed out on. "There's a few things that came out that I really wish I was on." Ellison explained. "I wish I was on the Earl [Sweatshirt] album, the Doris album."
