She & Him have announced the release date for their newest album, Classics.
The band, comprising of actress Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward will release their fifth album on December 2, and is described as a collection of “carefully selected, timeless standards.”
The covers album was ambitiously recorded live in front of 20-piece orchestra. Deschanel spoke fondly of the experience and said: “[The process] allowed a spontaneity that captured the spirit of the songs in their truest forms. It was a dream of ours to record these songs in a way that highlighted the brilliance of the songwriting and the beauty of their melodies.”

The pair unveiled the first full taste of the album, a version of Dusty Springfield’s ‘Stay Awhile’ through their website.
A full tracklist has yet to be revealed, but a previously shared trailer includes a snippet of their cover of ‘Oh No Not My Baby’, written by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, and is expected to appear on the record.
