It's been a busy year for Anna Calvi, whose new album One Breath has been nominated for this year's Mercury Prize. We chatted to her on the red carpet ahead of the big announcement, and she told us about seeing Kate Bush twice, strange fan mail and why this year she's more relaxed.
The singer's self-titled debut was also nominated for the prestigious award in 2011, but Calvi doesn't remember much about it. ""I just remember being really scared," she told us. "But this time I feel very relaxed, so that's good."

As for her most starstruck moment of the year, she said: "When I got to write a song with Marianne Faithfull. When I first met her I was quite overwhelmed and quite scared because we wrote a song within 20 minutes, just sat down in her flat in Paris - but it was really amazing, it was one of my highlights this year."
She also talked to Gigwise about her musical highlight of the year. "It would have to be Kate Bush. I got to see her twice and it was really amazing. It was interesting because I went on the first night and then I went maybe two weeks later, and to see that she was much more relaxed two weeks later. There was a lot more rapport between her band. A lot more looks between everyone, so that was really nice to see - the development."
And her favourite Kate Bush track? "'Morning Fog' is my favourite so I was very happy that she performed that song."
