Muse recently announced they had headed back in the studio to finish recording sessions for their upcoming seventh album. The band had previously done a run of studio sessions in Toronto, before taking a break and telling fans it had been "emotional". Now, the band have Tweeted they are "back in action".
The news comes after the band revealed that the new LP would be produced by legendary AC/DC producer Robert 'Mutt' Lange, after they told fans to expect the record to be released in summer 2015.
In a series of tweets earlier this summer, frontman Bellamy described the new album's central themes as "deep ecology, the empathy gap and World War 3." There may be high levels of irony in this part. He also revealed that his disdain for guitar solos has mellowed on the new album, and mentioned a "sequel" to Origin Of Symmetry track 'Citizen Erased'.
The band have previously spoken about how the record will be 'rockier', 'more raw' and much more back to basics than the synth and classical-inspired sounds on their more recent albums. Meanwhile, they're also among the acts rumoured to headline Glastonbury 2015.
