Nicki Minaj has responded to claims of racism in her latest music video, after it was believed she was glorifying Nazism.
The animated lyric video for 'Only' caused controversy yesterday (10 November) for its animation style, with the cartoon's colour scheme and styling of the Young Money logo prompting many to link to the Nazi Germany.
To add insult to injury, the clip was uploaded on the 76th anniversary of Kristallnacht, a date many consider to be the start of the Holocaust.
Minaj has since taken to Twitter to apologise for the controversial clip, establishing that it was not her intention to offend and stating: "I'd never condone Nazism in my art"
Read through Minaj's string of apologetic tweets below:
The artist who made the lyric video for “Only” was influenced by a cartoon on Cartoon Network called "Metalocalypse" & Sin City.

Both the producer, & person in charge of over seeing the lyric video (one of my best friends & videographer: A. Loucas), happen to be Jewish

I didn't come up w/the concept, but I'm very sorry & take full responsibility if it has offended anyone. I'd never condone Nazism in my art.
