Arcade Fire multi-instrumentalist Will Butler will release his debut solo album Policy in 2015.
Having premiered a number of the songs at a recent show in Brooklyn, Butler has now announced his debut solo album Policy will be out at in March on Merge Records.
UPDATE: Fowler has shared a first look at the video today (24 November). It was recorded in Jimi Hendrix's former living room at Electric Lady Studios in New York and features Arcade Fire's Jeremy Gara on drums. An accompanying release describes it as "American music" seeing it as part of a "tradition of the Violent Femmes, the Breeders, the Modern Loves, Bob Dylan, Smokey Robinson, the Magnetic Fields, Ghosface Killah. And John Lennon (which counts)."
Butler recently played a ten song set on 13 November, featuring six new songs and accompanied by two backing singers at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn. Butler's distinctly classical piano playing dominates tracks like 'Finish' and 'Sun Comes Up'. Meanwhile there are also rockers like stomping guitar track 'Take My Side'. Watch fan footage below:
The full setlist was:
