The Libertines were crowned as Best Headliner for their British Summer Time Hyde Park performance at the UK Festival Awards, in a shortlist curated by Gigwise.

The returning 'Up The Bracket' indie heroes were shortlisted by Gigwise as one of the definining headline moments of the summer, but it was the public vote that ranked them above the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Metallica, Suede and more.

The band accepted their award with a short video speech from Pete Doherty in Thailand - topless and playing a badminton racquet as he thanked fans from rehab.

Other big winners on the night included Rob Da Bank, who took home the Outstanding Contribution To Festivals Award for his work with Bestival and Camp Bestival (presented by Michael Eavis in some fetching demin shorts), Wolf Alice who won Best Breakthrough, Glastonbury were crowned Best Major and Festival Number 6 won best line-up.
