Jason Pierce is currently in the process of recording a new album as Spiritualized with Killing Joke's Youth.
The announcement was made this morning via both Killing Joke and Spiritualized's Facebook pages, and was greeted with delight from fans of both.
Jason Pierce (aka Jason Spaceman) is working with the Killing Joke bassist Martin 'Youth' Glover in his studio in London, and will finish recording the album in Spain in this half of the year. It will be the Spiritualized's eighth studio album, following up 2012's 'Sweet Heart Sweet Light'.
As well as his work with Killing Joke, Youth has an impressive range - in the past he has produced Paul McCartney, The Verve, Echo & The Bunnymen as well as working with The Orb.
Last year for Record Store Day Pierce contributed 'Always Forgetting With You (The Bridge Song)' to the compilation Space Project using audio from the Voyayger probes.
Spiritualized have also already announced two dates at international festivals and will be performing at Shaky Knees in Atlanta and Levitation in Austin. No UK dates have been announced so far but we'll let you know as soon as we do...
