Slash has revealed details of Dave Grohl's recent star-studded birthday party, explaining how he ended up covering Led Zeppelin and Queen live on stage.
Speaking to Billboard, the guitar icon said Grohl's 46th birthday at the Los Angeles forum was "one of the coolest i've witnessed in my time", before detailing what happened at the event.
After apparently being convinced to attend by Tenacious D frontman Jack Black, Slash ended up on stage at the party with Foo Fighters, covering Led Zeppelin's 'Immigrant Song' and Queen's 'Tie Your Mother Down' to an audience which also included Alice Cooper, Kiss' Paul Stanley, Van Halen's David Lee Roth and Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister among others.

Slash also described the fractious relationship he has had with Grohl, thanks to what he described as "a negative thing that happened between" Axl Rose and Kurt Cobain. "It had nothing to do with me or [Dave]," Slash explained and they are now firm friends.
