Lesley Gore, the voice behind the iconic hit 'It's My Party', has died at the age of 68.
As well as helming Quincy Jones first hit in 1963 with 'It's My Party', Gore achieved further success with 'She’s A Fool, 'You Don’t Own Me', 'Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows', and 'Judy’s Turn to Cry'.
"She was a wonderful human being," her partner of 33 years, Lois Sasson told The Associated Press, "caring, giving, a great feminist, great woman, great human being, great humanitarian."

Gore's other achievements included being nominated for an Academy Award for 'Out Here on My Own' from the 1980 movie, Fame - consisting of music she composed with her Oscar-winning brother, Michael.
As well as remaining musically active well into her later years, performing regularly and recording new material, she also dabbled in televsion - appearing on Batman in the 1960s and more recently hosting a special of PBS’ In The Life to focus on LGBT issues.
