Singer songwriter Gavin Clark, who worked with both James Lavelle on UNKLE and Shane Meadows on numerous film projects, has died.
A statement has been posted on Clark's Facebook explaining: "Gavin Clark tragically passed away last night.
"Until a full statement is released, we ask the press to respect the family's request for privacy at this time, so that they can grieve in peace."
James Lavelle, who worked with Clark on his UNKLE project, said in a statement: "It is with great sadness and shock to hear today of the tragic and unexpected passing of friend and collaborator, Gavin Clark. Gavin was a beautiful man, a wonderful friend and father.
"A man of unimaginable talent, wit and spirituality, and had a voice like no other. One of the greatest and most unique artists I have had the pleasure to work with. He will be deeply missed. My condolences go to his family and friends. May God rest his soul. RIP. Thank you for the amazing journey. Miss you man, see you on the other side."

As well as being part of the folk band Clayhill, Clark composed work for a number of Meadows films, including his cover fo The Smiths 'Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want' that closed This is England. The pair's most prominent collaboration was in 2009's The Living Room, which documented their friendship.
In a recent interview with Noisey, Meadows praised his friend's unique gifts. “Gavin’s stuff was right up there with people like Nick Drake, Tim Rose. He seemed to be in that mould but was twenty-one, living in a field in the middle of Staffordshire."
Gavin Clark's final album Beautiful Skeletons was released to critical acclaim in May 2014.
