After Chris Brown and his girlfriend Karrueche Tran were photographed wearing fur during New York fashion week, PETA have slammed their wardrobe choice as "ugly violence."
Brown and Tran were on the front row of the Michael Costello runway show on Tuesday (17 February) and Tran shared a picture of the pair sitting next Christine Milian, both draped in fur coats.
In response, PETA have released a statement which reads, "There are few things more out of touch than draping yourself in the skins of animals who were beaten, electrocuted, and even skinned alive for their fur."
In a slightly inappropriate manner, they go on to implictly allign Brown's wearing of fur with his history of domestic violence. "Pink’s New York Fashion Week PETA billboard shows that true beauty comes from kindness — Chris Brown’s furs are just more of the same from him: ugly violence.”
The billboard they refer to is a recent anti-fur campaign in which Pink took part, under the tagline, "I'd rather go naked than wear fur."
PETA, which stands for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, also recently criticised Kanye West and Kim Kardashian for dressing their daughter North in fur for WEst's Adidas show.
