Tom DeLonge has announced the release of a Blink 182 rarities and demos album, entitled To The Stars.

Promising to consist of "demos, odds and ends", the guitarist's new album will be released on 21 April via his personal website. DeLonge took to Instagram to explain that the album will conatain "New stuff, old stuff, all personal stuff- MY stuff.... But all completed and finished songs by the way".

Off the snippets of lyrics that can be heard on his site so far one key lyric that stands out includes "I'm gonna build a punk rock band" which may suggest he will address some of the issues that came about through the lifespan of Blink 182. Fans who pre-order the album will be be able to hear the first track on 9 March.

The packages available on DeLonge's site range from the cheapest (a $9.99 download) right up to a $129.99 bundle (featuring a CD, a limited edition LP, a t-shirt and a signed limited edition Lithograph). The tracklisting for the album is set to be announced on 16 March with songs being premiered on 9 March, 23 March and 6 April.

It marks the latest chapter in the increasingly ugly fallout between DeLonge and his former Blink 182 bandmates. DeLonge left Blink-182 unceremoniously early this year, when his band slammed him as "ungrateful" and "disrespectful." News broke of DeLonge's departure in January, after it was announced that they would be playing Musink Festival with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba instead of DeLonge.

DeLonge subsequently published an open letter insisting that he wrote to the band a year ago, as well as to their managers, who insisted his bandmates agreed with his ideas of how to grow the band - "So you can imagine my surprise when a press release went out yesterday—without my knowledge—about the band’s future. This is new to me. It’s not in my nature to fuel negativity about the legacy of the band on something as trashy as the Internet world."

DeLonge also released two excerpts from songs with the caption '#SongsWithoutAHome'. The first, which has been filmed with planets on the screen, is a purely instrumental, upbeat number.

The second excerpt, filmed in front of an eleborate image of Jesus making the shape of a skull, is a little more lo-tempo, and this time includes vocals.
