Ed Sheeran has shown his support for Joe Irvine, the New Zealand X Factor contestant who was bullied by judges Willy Moon and Natalia Kills.
This past weekend, the recently sacked married duo tore the contestant to shreds while they were live on air following his performance of ‘Cry Me A River’. But the bashing wasn’t due to a poor performance, as they had a problem with his wardrobe choices. Kills called Irvine “disgusting” and “creepy” and accused him of trying to copy her husband’s look, while Moon accused the contestant of resembling Norman Bates for “dressing up in his mother’s clothing.”
Along with the announcement that the unnecessarily harsh judges were booted from the judging panel, Ed Sheeran Tweeted support to Irvine, writing: “don't worry about what anyone else says man. Enjoy yourself with it, that's what singing is about, not what other people think”.
