To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Allen Ginsberg’s 1955 poem ‘Howl’, a benefit concert will be held in Los Angeles and proceeds will go towards the David Lynch Foundation.
On April 7 at LA’s Ace Hotel, a Hal Willner-produced event will take place to celebrate the anniversary and will feature “music, words and funny people”.
So far, the lineup includes the likes of Courtney Love, Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew, Devendra Banhart, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith, Amy Poehler and Will Forte. There are also expected to be “surprise special guests". You can view the full lineup below.
Proceeds from the event will go towards the David Lynch Foundation, which funds stress-reducing modalities, including the Transcendental Meditation program, to help at-risk populations, such as inner-city students, veterans with PTSD, and women and children who are survivors of violence and abuse.
Tickets for the event are on sale now.
